Larsen Park is a gorgeous recreational park adjacent to Peninsula Boulevard in the heart of Lynbrook. It spreads out in the space between Remsen Street and Lynbrook Avenue. It is famous for its quiet woodsy appeal and stands out for its beautiful trees that provide plenty of shade for its visitors. The park is enclosed to ensure the children don’t stray off during play. Its location makes it easily accessible and there are plenty of parking spaces near the park.
Larsen was established in 1992. The serene environment inside the park makes it the perfect place for both adults and kids. The park is thoughtfully partitioned into sections. For instance, there’s an extensive section for little kids ages 2 to 5. This space features slides installed at different points. The slides take up different vibrant colors that children most certainly love. There are also plenty of seesaws.
The next subdivision is adorned with small scalable structures and is intended for kids between the ages of 5 and 12. Another space showcases a slightly challenging yet thrilling adventure thanks to a complex set of structures including a set of towering ladders of varying heights. The section also features a slightly different set of slides with winding designs. Kids will also enjoy the tunnels and bridges installed in the space. This part of the park is especially suitable for slightly older kids. Amazingly, all the playground sections are covered with sawdust to make the ground soft and safer during play.
Larsen Park is also a vibrant picnic destination, with plenty of benches and tables erected away from the playgrounds all over the park. The tables are Ideal resting areas for the kids after breathless play sessions in the park. Moreover, the benches make the park the ideal place for family outings. Thanks to the park’s friendly environment, it occasionally serves as a perfect venue for get-togethers, family reunions, and corporate events. On the other hand, the park’s massive space is convenient for exercise. The park’s asphalt-covered trails area a good destination for early morning runs or leisurely walks in the evening.
Other notable features at Larsen Park include multiple swings, a kiddie bouncer, and open green spaces. Just like most other local parks in Lynbrook Village, NY, the park administration does not allow pets into the premises.
